Kynaston's Blessing

We were able to bless Kynaston this last Sunday the 22nd of February. It is always such a wonderful experience to hear your baby being given their name and a blessing. James did a great job. We were surrounded by our family and had a fun party after wards. Jeff and Tammy (James' brother and his wife), let us use their home for the dinner. We were very appreciative of that because with 30 plus people our house would have been just a little to small. I'm grateful to Alice and Tammy for getting dinner on for us. I ended up with Strep and so didn't want to touch the food and I didn't feel the greatest.

We are lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful family's. I don't know what we would do without them. I'm so grateful for the gospel and the knowledge that we will all be together forever.

I have a fake.

Alison has had a cold the last two days and every time she coughs we tell her to take a drink of water. Well last night we got them McDonald's for dinner and with it they got milk. While daddy was getting gas in the car Porter and I have the following conversation.

Porter: "Mom I have a fake."
Me: "A fake what?"
Porter: (irritated) "A Fake, you know a fake."
Me: "No Porter I don't know what a fake is."
Porter: "cough cough, You know mom a fake cough."
Me: "O you do?"
Porter: "Yes mom and when I'm done with my fake I'll get a drink of milk."
Me: "Okay you do that."
Porter: (all excited) "Mom my fake is gone!"

What will he come up with next?

2 months and 3 years

Yesterday we had Porter's 3 year check up and Kynaston's 2 month check up. Both boys are growing great and their exams went well.
Porter is now 35 lbs and 38 inches. He was full of questions for the doctor and I realized that he talks a lot when Alison isn't around. He had so much to say to me he cracks me up. He told me "Mom I need a puppy", maybe when he is old enough to take care of a puppy he can have one. He is very head strong, when his mind is set there is no changing it and maybe that's why we have had such a hard time potty training. His doctor did give me a way that should potty train him in a day, I just have to find something to do with Alison for the day.
Kynaston is growing fast. He is now 14lbs 5oz (almost twice his birth weight) and 24 inches (5 inches longer then birth.) He is strong and rolled over 3 times on Monday. He has found how to get his fist to his mouth and loves to suck on it, he also has started to sleep threw the night. In the last week he has started to sleep 6 to 8 hours a night, mommy and daddy are loving that. Kynaston gives us lots of smiles and loves to sit and coo at mommy while she talks to him.
I can't believe how big my boys are getting. I look at Kynaston and think where did the last 2 months go and why are you growing so fast? Then I look at Porter and think what the heck happened to the last three years. It makes me love and cherish everyday. I realize they grow so fast and before long Kynaston will be three and Porter will be going to school. But for now I will try and enjoy the little things and remember that it will all be gone to soon.

Draper Temple

Last night we had the chance to take the kids and go threw the Draper Temple before its dedication. While I was getting the kids ready to go Porter told me "Mommy I'm going to be quite in the temple so I can see Jesus". Such a sweet spirit he has. We meet Jen and Paul and their kids as well as Matt and his friend Sharah. It was neat to take the kids threw. Alison always has lots of questions about the Temple and it was nice to show her what the inside of one looks like. She relay liked the brides room, and the celestial room. Porter loved the cows (baptismal fonts oxen). He saw them and went crazy talking about he white cows. Then when we were able to walk around the other side and see the water in the font he says "O we better not step on that". As we kept walking he saw the oxen again and said Mommy more cows. Kids will be kids. Alison and Porter had a hard time waiting in the long lines to move from room to room but over all I think it was a good experience hopefully one they will remember for a long time. I can't wait tell they have it dedicated and James and I can go back and enjoy the peace and wonderful spirit that is there in the temple.

Valentine's Photos

Okay so I know Valentine's day has come and gone but life here is so busy lately its hard to keep up. I did a few photos with the kids a few days before Valentine's. They love the camera and Kynaston loves to be sitting up. A moment of peace and happiness. Doesn't happen very often.

Kynaston is now 10 weeks old and is a happy baby most the time.

Porter loves his little brother and is always willing to help out.

Alison is always kissing him. She is excited to be getting her own room.

Aren't they just so cute??

Our New Bathroom

Last September we decided to add a second bathroom. Our home only has one and with a growing family we really needed another. So James has been working so hard to redue our back laundry room and bedroom. Here's what we have done with the new bathroom. I am in love with it! My new floor!

The Shower!!

Our big bathtub. Our tub is 2" wider and 19" deep! I can't wait to use it.
I will update with more pictures when we have the toilet and sink in!

1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.

1. Mothers don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

Happy Birthday

Yesterday my little Porter turned 3! He is such a cute little 3 year old. We started the day by letting him open his gifts. We wanted him to have something to do all day since we have been spending every Saturday since September working on the house. Anyway we had pancakes (his favorite) for Breakfast and then let him have at it. He got some really cool stuff. Grandma J send him some books, a harmonica, and $5. I asked him if he knew what the money was and he says its Jesus. LOL, no that's President Lincoln. Daddy showed him what the harmonica did and when he figured it out he said "dad this is a good toy." Porter is still talking about needing to show his harmonica to Uncle Aaron, I guess he has one too. Grandma Bury gave him a bowling set that is milk jugs and the ball is a cows head. It took Porter a few minutes but he finally figured out that you don't kick the ball you roll it. Alison and Kynaston gave him some match box cars and a truck to hall them in. James and I gave him some clothes, books, and a toy that you put together with little screws and a small drill. He loved it. One of his books is No Davide and Porter sat down and read the book to himself out loud. It was so cute! I made him a Tigger cake and we sang to him after dinner last night. He came up to me during the middle of the day and held up three fingers and told me mom look I'm three now and I can do this. Now if we could just get him to use the potty... Anyway happy birthday little guy.
